Curriculum

Because information science is essentially related to many fields, the education policy of the School of Information and Mathematical Science places emphasis on providing students with a broad perspective. Students are divided into two courses as shown in the illustration, and taught by the instructors of the Graduate School of Informatics (Department of Applied Mathematics and Physics, Department of Systems Science, Department of Applied Analysis and Complex Dynamical Systems, Department of Intelligence Science and Technology, Department of Social Informatics, and Department of Communications and Computer Engineering).

The students of this School separate into the Computer Science Course and Applied Mathematics and Physics Course, generally at the end of the first academic year, for more specialized education.
