Outline

In the Applied Mathematics and Physics Course in the School of Informatics and Mathematical Science, Faculty of Engineering, in addition to various related topics, we conduct education and research on "Mathematics and Dynamics" as the basis of mathematical sciences; "Control Theory" a fundamental field in system engineering; "Operations Research" which is for resolving problems with mathematical methods; and "Discrete Mathematics" which plays an important part in information science. This course also provides computer- and communication-related subjects necessary for actual application of the educational and research elements this course. Applied Mathematics and Physics is a field for the pursuit of universal methods of engineering in general, based on comprehensive mathematical methods. The field plays a role in comprehensive engineering, which contributes to mathematical analysis and the design of IT technologies in the age of advanced information.
